My Story…
“Whenever I see an adult on a bicycle, I do not despair for the human race.” — H.G. Wells
When I was in my early twenties and just starting to date Alex, an avid cyclist, my Aunt Peggy gave me a sweet deal and sold me her old road bike. Whenever we would visit the cottage in Port Elgin, Aunt Peg and Uncle Rob would take me on long (for me) rides, spending time discussing recipes, the environment, and what the crazy kids were up to, while basking in the beautiful nature along the coast of Lake Huron.
Although Peggy is no longer with us, I still ride her bike to connect with her across time. Cycling has always been about the community it creates which is why the Gran Fondo is such a special ride every year.
This year, I hope you will help me with raising funds for the Saugeen Memorial Hospital as they invest in another MRI machine and Wellness and Treatment Centre for mental health. We are riding in the dear memory of family and friends Aunt Peggy, Marilyn, and John.
Help us make a difference in Grey Bruce and cheer us on as we ride together August 20.
Donate to help Victoria raise money for 2023 Gran Fondo Lake Huron’s fundraising campaign.
