Bear Mountain Trail Race
Bear is a beautiful mountain located just behind the heart of Mission, BC on the ancestral land of the Stó:lō Nation including the Matsqui, Sema:th, Kwantlen, Katzie, Sq'ewlets, and Leq'a:mel territories.
You'll run through mossy forests of tall trees boasting views of the surrounding mountain ranges. All distances are loop-based routes so there are no out-and-backs or double loops here! Expect beautiful trails capturing new scenery the whole way through from start to finish.

All distances will start and end at the main parking lot on Dewdney Trunk Road.
We have included donations to MSAR and FVMBA in the cost of your registration.
$5 from every reg goes to Mission Search and Rescue. Additional MSAR donations are welcome.
$5-$10 from every reg will be donated to the Fraser Valley Mountain Bikers Association to help with trail maintenance, trail building, and ensuring the courses are ready for you on race day.
As with all of our events, we offer a kid's race which starts on Saturday morning following the other distances. This is a fun run of 1 km on the trails! Pre-registration is not required. Kids race participants will receive a finisher's item. Donations are welcome but not required.

Starting from the main parking lot, you will go up a gradual climb for the first few kilometers, then reach the fun descents and rolling trails leading up to a steeper climb and beautiful lookout of the surrounding mountain ranges. From here, you are hitting some flowy downhill and smooth trails until the next climb. You'll have a chance to run on some gravel FSR roads for a little relief from the climbs and experience a true mix of literally all-terrain styles and trails in this race. Steep single-track descents, runnable climbs mixed with steep climbs, multiple areas with beautiful views from the FSR, and some fun features along the way!

This 12 km is the perfect course for those who want to see a little more of the gorgeous Bear Mountain trails. This course offers a gradual climb to start the day and get you warm, leading to a view point you won't want to miss! From here, you will be on winding single track connecting various trails that showcase the amazing variety of terrain on these mountains. You will run through mossy forests, smooth and flowy trails, technical and mixed descents, and of course a little more elevation before you reach the final descent. The final 2 kilometres tour you down one of the most fun and rolling downhills of the day and bring you right to the finish line!

This 8 km loop is the perfect route to test out the trails! This course will start from the main parking lot and offer a gentle warm-up around the side of the lake before sending you on your main climb for the day! You will climb for up to 3 km and then be rewarded with mountain top views before hitting your flowy trails. With a few kilometers of trails in the mossy forest you will hit your final descent of smooth winding downhill trails that take you right back to where you started at the main parking lot for all of the finish line celebrations!

Fee Notes and Deferral Policy
- $5-$10 from every registration will go directly towards Fraser Valley Mountain Bike Association
- $5 from every registration will go directly towards Mission Search and Rescue.
- All prices listed above are subject to sales tax (5% GST in BC). All fees are payable in Canadian Dollars.
- An online processing fee will be applied to your registration for this event.
Deferral Policy
60 days before race day - 100% of your entry fees can be deferred to another Heads or Trails event
30 days before race day - 50% of your entry fees can be deferred to another Heads or Trails event
21 days before race day - No deferrals. No Refunds. No Exceptions. At this point, all of our race expenses have been incurred to put on a fantastic event! We cannot offer any exceptions beyond this point and we appreciate your understanding.
*All deferrals are redeemable within one calendar year from the deferral date, and an entry may only be deferred once
Race Cancellation Policy
If the race is unable to proceed in person for any circumstances including, but not limited to, weather, acts of nature, covid-19, or other circumstances, the event will move ahead virtually.
Bibs are non-transferable to another racer under any circumstance.
Also, please note that we do not provide transfers or refunds under any circumstances.
