My Story…
Last year for an assignment for Seaside Magazine I wrote about the Victoria Women’s Transition House, and the essential work they do supporting women who have experienced intimate partner violence, through their emergency shelter, and extensive counselling and support services. Now I am working for VWTH as their Communications Manager! I've put myself forward as the VWTH Charity Champion for this year's Goddess Run and with the support of my incredible Seaside Magazine colleagues I am heading up a team - Seaside’s Peninsula Powerhouses – to build on the community of incredible women runners that I know, and to hopefully raise some significant funds for VWTH.
Running has been the source of many of my friendships. I’ve found that a group of women runners is a very supportive place to be: we talk, laugh (occasionally cry), give advice, listen, offer solace and encouragement.
It's not about the distance or the time it takes to cover it - this race is all about the women I'll be running with and the way that bringing women together, whether for community, fitness, support or just fun, is always a good idea.
Thank you for your support of my fundraiser and the Seaside's Peninsula Powerhouses team.
