As the lead of Sunnybrook Hospital's Young Adult Colorectal Cancer Program, the only program of its kind in Canada for adults diagnosed with colorectal cancer under the age of 50, it is a privilege to be a member of CCRAN's Medical Advisory Board and the Clinician Champion of the 2023 Virtual Bumrun event! 

Colorectal cancer incidence rates in adults less than 50 years have risen by approximately 50% over the past two decades. Younger patients are diagnosed at later stages of disease and with tumours that require more aggressive treatment. Irrespective of age, colorectal cancer and its treatment can have profound and lasting impacts on both physical and mental health, with worse health outcomes seen in the younger population. 

This year, Bumrun has once again partnered with CCRAN to raise funds that will benefit CCRAN's exceptional Patient Programs. Please join me in supporting CCRAN as we strive together to support and advocate on behalf of colorectal cancer patients and their families throughout Canada!
