My Story…
Hi Friends,
I am excited to do BumRun 2023 in support of Colorectal Cancer Resource and Action Network (CCRAN).
Most know my cancer journey. I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2016 when I was 36 years old. After undergoing radiation, surgery, chemotherapy treatment and having a temporary ileostomy, I marked 5-years of being cancer-free in 2022. My experience with colorectal cancer has been fueling my research into colorectal cancer, including the increasing risk among young adults, mental health impacts, and now, reproductive and sexual health impacts.
I have had the honour of collaborating with CCRAN on our shared mission of supporting those who are diagnosed and living with and beyond colorectal cancer. I know first hand the amazing work they do.
I have been training for BumRun and I have two goals:
1. To complete the 5K run under 35 min AND importantly
2. To raise $1,000 (maybe more) for CCRAN. I would appreciate pledges of support and I will match pledges up to $500.
