My Story…
We often use the words "gotta' run" casually, even as we are partway out a door, en route to someplace or someone. Perhaps we're a few minutes behind schedule for an appointment, or traffic looks to make us late for a dinner date. "Gotta' run."
As parents, we can all relate to trying to get to an important meeting, while wiping syrup off the faces of children, loading the dishwasher and grabbing our bags. "Gotta' run," we say to our families.
With the formation of WBYC, these two words take on new meaning. "Gotta' run" is what fuels our commitment to and our caring for this cause. This race is yet another way to celebrate William's life and create community building, one step at a time.
I gotta' run because I am part of a team that nurtures and cultivates individuality, collaboration and community. There is no better way to put it. I gotta' run.
The funds raised will support the WBYC mission to help kids find the courage to be their authentic selves-by educating parents, teachers and kids on important mental health topics, providing opportunities for kids to express themselves through movement, and by building community through connection and service.
Thank you so much for supporting me in this endeavor.
