This year I am running in honor of my son Mateo who has Spina Bifida. The Spina Bifida Association has been there for us since the time of diagnosis to provide resources and support. We have made wonderful friends in the community and know that as he grows, Mateo will have a wonderful group of peers and mentors who share his diagnosis and relate to him in this unique way. The association has been a wealth of information and made it easy to share information with family members who want to understand and support Mateo as well.
From Lauren: as a parent, with no prior experience with having a child with a disability, this organization has been so supportive and embracing and the parent-to-parent chats have been a great way for me to gain advice and support as I adjusted to life with two babies and a new way of life.
Mateo is absolutely THRIVING- he is happy, silly, and smart. He loves playing with his brother and going swimming with his Gigi.

Description
I am proud to be running the Falmouth Road Race this year in support of the Spina Bifida Association of Greater New England.
This tiny, but mighty, organization does incredible work providing resources, advocacy, education, and community for the estimated 4,400 individuals and families living with Spina Bifida in all 6 New England states. It has made a huge impact on me and my family, and I greatly appreciate your generous support!
With your help, SBAGNE can provide:
- One welcome package to a new family with Spina Bifida ($25)
- One SBAGNE Virtual Program ($50)
- Critical information and resources via e-newsletters to our membership and New England clinics ($100)
- One Empowerment Grant for an individual with Spina Bifida to try a new experience ($250)
- One scholarship to our Regional Education Conference ($500)
- Support for one family to attend our Teen Empowerment Weekend ($1,000)
