OUR FINISH LINE SAYS ALS DONE!
Our family lost our favorite little cutie to ALS in 2013 after many roundtrips from her home in Florida to Boston for medical treatment. What started as a pinched nerve, quickly led to muscle weakness and fatigue. Eventually, traveling became too much and Rebecca took a semester off from school to be with her and help care for her.
The scary reality of ALS is how fast it progresses. Within a year, she lost the ability to walk, hold utensils or swallow food, go to the bathroom and shower on her own. ALS was both physically exhausting for her, but even more mentally exhausting. She lost the ability to do what she loved to do every day and talk to the people she loved and cared for. Being taken care of was always one of her biggest challenges.
Our grandma passed away a few short months after being officially diagnosed and Rebecca was so fortunate to find TEAM ALS ONE to continue her legacy, raise awareness and fund amazing research and care. Rebecca will be running her 6th consecutive race for team ALS ONE along with Hunter, Alyssa and Ken running their 2nd consecutive year and are even more thrilled to *finally* have our mom Stacy join us on August 20, 2023.
In memory of our Grandma, Iris Goldson, we are aiming to raise over $15,000 in honor of her 10 year anniversary. We feel so extremely grateful for all of your love and support every year. Please consider donating to our page, keep an eye out for our teams fundraising events and if interested or able, reach out to us about donating a gift basket for our raffle this year.
WE LOVE YOU IRIS GOLDSON ♥️
