My Story…
My friend William died in a skiing accident when we were in 3rd grade. I’m running the Falmouth Road Race to raise money for William’s Be Yourself Challenge. I met William when I was in pre-k. When William died I didn’t understand how to feel, and what that meant. I knew what had happened but I couldn’t comprehend death. Grief is a complicated idea. At points in time you could be really angry, and at points you could be accepting. Or you could be confused, that is what the William’s Be Yourself Challenge is trying to help with. Getting people through times when they are in hardship. William had a kind, athletic soul, with the coolest middle name ever; and if he put his mind to something he would do it. That is the real reason I am running the Falmouth Road Race, for William Wolfgang Shaw!
