My Story…
Last year I ran the Falmouth Road Race for the first time and it was such an amazing experience I knew I had to do it again this year. Not only was it gratifying to finish a 7 mile race but it was a great opportunity to run for charity and fundraise for a cause that is important to me. Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization that works with families in need to build affordable housing. Stable housing matters because it’s interconnected with mental and physical health outcomes. Lack of secure housing increases stress and affects one’s ability to go to school or work, to sleep, and to take care of family. This is why I run for Team Habitat.
Habitat for Humanity has a wide influence, helping establish affordable housing in 1,400 local communities across the U.S. and 70 countries around the world! Habitat Cape Cod (the team I am running for) has built 170 homes since they were founded 35 years ago.

Habitat Cape Cod partners with families in need of an affordable home to build one of their own; fostering stability, self-reliance and a strong sense of community.
Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod has developed over 170 affordable homes on Cape Cod. Local families help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Homes are deed restricted to remain affordable in perpetuity. With the support of Habitat and community contributors, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.
