My Story…
While I have personally been so lucky to live close to Boston when I needed care and access to specialists, there are a lot of families where that is not the case. This year, for fundraising efforts I have been partnered with Jaidyn. As her mom, Tamena, shared "Jaidyn’s journey to healing began in the middle of her 7th grade year when her GI system began to shut down and the doctors in MO couldn’t figure out why. She became dependent on a feeding tube and we struggled to find out why she had so much pain on top of the inability to eat or drink. When she was accepted by a team of doctors at Boston Children’s Hospital we were very excited but also in such a financial stress state from going from a two income to a one income family of 6 in order for me to help care for her, constant travel to hospitals (our closest was 2 hours away), and just the medication alone was adding up that we did not know how we were going to afford the multiple stays in Boston. Due to the generous help of Hospitality Homes we have been able to continue to make our trips for multiple procedures, surgeries, check up and feel supported through the process. Coming from a town with one stop light to a city so big it’s easy to get lost and scared and due to the love and kindness my child is making strides towards healing and hopefully a more productive less painful adult life." I am honored to share Jaidyn's story and inspired by her and her family.
I speak for our staff, the board, and our volunteer runners when I say we appreciate any donation. A financial contribution is not the only way to help! If you live in the area and would like to become a host, please reach out! I am a host and happy to talk to anyone about this amazing experience.

Description
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
I'm so proud to be a member of TEAM HOSPITALITY HOMES in this year's Falmouth Road Race!
Your support means the world to me and will help continue to provide housing for patients and families traveling to Boston for critical medical treatment.
With the prohibitively expensive costs of local hotels- averaging $260 per night- and the lack of sufficient hospital- sponsored housing, many patients struggle with what to do, balancing these and other out-of-pocket expenses with the already high cost of responding to a complex or chronic illness.
