Help Heather raise money

For participating in The 2023 ASICS Falmouth Road Race

My Story…

As I ran in the heat this morning turning the corner at 3 miles my legs started to shake. The time and effort it takes to get ready for the Falmouth Road Race is motivational, emotional, and physical.

I haven't always been a runner, yet I found a special reason to run! At first it was for mental health as 8 years ago I lost my little girl to Sudden Unexpected Death in a Child (SUD-C). I never thought I could survive, but running was my outlet.

After Sydney passed away we had our "Rainbow Baby Maddox." Maddox was perfection. He was the calm after the storm; however there was another storm brewing. At 6 months olds our lives flipped around again and our little boy Maddox or Maddog as we call him cause he's fearless. Maddox was diagnosed at 6 months with Severe Hemophilia A (A rare bleeding disorder ). As my family tried to wrap our heads around this new diagnosis the fear set in and we weren't sure how to figure this new life out. With the help of Rich from the New England Hemophilia Association we had some ease, we had some comfort, and we had a new family...

"A Bleeding Community".

Maddox is almost 7 years old and for the last 2 years I have run for Team NEHA. This is my time to give back, support, raise awareness, and funds for my Maddog and our hemophilia community.

All money raised goes towards camp (which Maddox will be going to for the first time this summer), funds for families, and other opportunities for this special community.

As year 3 approaches I think how far Maddox has come, and how many miles I've clocked. I can't be at every event for NEHA , but I support whenever I can. This is the one time a year that I know it's about Maddog and the bleeding community. I'm looking forward to the American Flag as I know once you see that your time is almost finished.

Please consider helping me raise money for a very special organization. Maddog appreciates it and so does Team NEHA!
