Help Chad raise money

Hello, my name is Chad Pelletier and I am Chase Soares uncle.  This year I am running the road race in my nephew’s memory and for Team Chase Foundation.

I started my running journey about 10 years ago.  My wife (Chase’s aunt, Kristina) had signed up for a 5k along with her best friend in Worcester. The day before we were leaving to head up my wife stepped down off the step and broke her foot.  In short we still made it up but my wife asked if I could complete the run because she just couldn’t.   After some thought I agreed and was ready for the challenge and ran with her bestie.  Not my best time but a journey I certainly never thought I would entertain and I finished. 

Since that time I have run a few 5k’s to help raise money for ovarian cancer research (Live like Renee 5k) that was founded, in honor and in memory of my beloved and dearly missed cousin Renee Pelletier Costa whom battled ovarian cancer for a very long time.  Renee’s 5k’s had pushed me to do more running.  A few other 5k’s under my belt and I was ready to sign up for my first ever Falmouth Road Race in 2014.  My wife was 3 months pregnant with our beautiful twins so I was on my own for this new journey.  In 2016 I had the privilege of running my 2nd Falmouth Road Race with my wife by my side and crossed the finished line hand in hand. It was the most amazing accomplishment and feeling I have ever felt and I got to have my wife by my side.  This year is my 3rd time running the Falmouth Road Race and I am once again running with my wife by my side raising money for such a great cause.  

As Chase’s uncle, I knew the kind of beautiful soul he was.  He was kind, polite, friendly, loving, caring and just the most amazing young man I had the pleasure of knowing.  It was a great pleasure being apart of his life, knowing him and hearing all about his greatest accomplishment as a basketball rising star.
