I worked in the NICU in Portland Maine for many years, and have first hand knowledge of the benefits of Ronald McDonald House. SO many babies are transported from outlying communities for treatment in Portland. It is already traumatizing to have a child separated from family, but then add the stress of being many miles away from home. For parents of babies and children, the House gives them a place to stay, a respite from the hospital and support of other families experiencing the same level of stress and worry. I can't imagine what these families would do without this connection. Please support my efforts to raise money for this extremely worthwhile cause
Description
Each year hundreds of families travel to New England from locations all over the world to give their child access to the best medical care. In doing so, they face enormous hurdles such as navigating the complexities of the health care system, extraordinarily high local housing costs, and excessive emotional and physical stress. At the Ronald McDonald House Charities of New England we remove the stress of daily living and support families to enable them to focus on what really matters: their child’s health and healing.
On August 20, 2023 Team RMHCNE will hit the pavement to race the historic 7 mile course, while raising critical funds to support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence and the Ronald McDonald House at Boston Harbor.
This year Team RMHCNE will work together to provide nearly 400 nights of housing, comfort and support for families of critically ill children. Together, we can reduce the stress associated with financial strain so families can focus on the health of their children.
