My Story…
I am honored to be running the 2023 Falmouth Road Race on behalf of MV Community Services. I have just concluded my 6th year as the Director of Early Childhood Programs. During this time, I have come to understand the significant challenges that families on the island face as they navigate the high cost of living, housing instability, isolation, substance use disorder and domestic violence. I have also seen families demonstrate tremendous growth and resiliency when they receive the support that they need.
Our Early Childhood Programs play a foundational role in the health and well being of our community. Our Family Center offers parent education workshops, parent support groups, parent/child activities and individualized supports to all families on the island. Our Head Start program targets families with children birth-five living below the poverty line, supporting parents in their role as their child's first and most important teacher. Our Early Education and Care Center serves infants, toddlers and preschoolers in our community 9 hours a day, 52 weeks a year, playing an essential role in the lives of working families.
The funding that we receive does not cover the actual cost of providing high quality programming, which means that we rely heavily on philanthropic dollars to survive. We hope that you will consider supporting my run for MV Community Services. Your donation will help to create a brighter future for our community!
