My Story…
I have always wanted to run in the Falmouth Road Race because it is a big tradition in the Vaccaro Family. My dad is the youngest of 6 and he and his siblings grew up in West Falmouth; and since then, so many in my family have returned to run in this event and I want to carry on the legacy.
Not only does my reason to run involve family roots, but also to raise money for Joe Q Coffee Break. This is an organization local to Upper Cape Cod that promotes fellowship for veterans who are seeking support and informational services.
I’m proud so many members of my family served including my grandfather, Ralph Vaccaro, who served as an army medic in WWII where he was present for the Battle of the Bulge, and my father who served during the aftermath of the war in Kuwait.
Although I have never served, I understand there are smaller ways I can contribute which is why I’m running in the Falmouth Road Race; to spread the word and fundraise for the renovation of a new veteran community center in Falmouth.
And I will be doing this especially in the memory of my late grandfather, Ralph Vaccaro who is pictured in the profile photo.
Thank you for all the support! Excited to get the running shoes on for such a great event!
