My Story…
This summer I will be running the Falmouth Road Race for the first time on behalf of Girls on the Run, an organization that empowers young girls through physical activity. I first learned about this organization while in college at UNC Chapel Hill. Shortly after graduating and moving to Boston, I started to volunteer as a coach for the team in Cambridge and I recently just finished a season with girls in Medford. It has been two years and counting now working for this organization, and I can confidently say the relationships I've built with the girls and my fellow coaches are some I truly cherish. Thank you for your support of my running journey and of an organization I am very passionate about!
Description
Girls on the Run is more than a running program. Through GOTR's program, trained coaches implement the research-based curriculum that builds lifelong healthy habits. Girls learn the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of physical activity, as well as tools for navigating the challenges of adolescence. Each season concludes with a 5K event where the girls run at their own pace, giving them a sense of achievement and a framework for setting and achieving life goals.
