I am running the Falmouth Road Race in support of Good Sports, a non-profit dedicated to providing children in high need communities with access to sports opportunities and brand new equipment in all 50 states.

Too many times a child has to pass on a sports activity due to cost. Nationally, families spend an average of $903 per child annually on sports-related equipment, and children from low-income homes are six times more likely to stop playing sports due to financial constraints. 

And yet, we know how much sports and physical activity can benefit children. Research shows that children with sports opportunities experience better health, enhanced academic performance, and develop important emotional and social skills.

My brothers and I were always playing a sport, no matter the time of year. Whether it was competitive travel teams or just a pick up game in the neighborhood, we were always supported and encouraged. We were lucky enough to be able to try any sport we had an interest in, and it made such a difference in our lives. 

Every child, regardless of their socioeconomic status, deserves the life-long benefits that sports and physical activity provide. 

Please help me reach my goal of raising $1000 for Good Sports! Your contribution will go directly towards providing brand new sports equipment to children who would otherwise miss out on the joy and benefits of sports.
