My Story…
On August 20th, I will be running the Falmouth Road Race on behalf of The Ryan Richards Foundation in memory of my best friend from Tufts, Ryan. Ryan and Diana, Kristina's best friend, introduced us in Falmouth in 2013. Needless to say, Ryan (and Falmouth) have a very special place in our hearts.
The Falmouth Road Race was also a special event for Ryan and a 7 mile race that he never missed. Ryan was sidelined in 2015 with the diagnosis of NUT Carcinoma, an aggressive rare cancer that is diagnosed in less than 50 people per year. Ryan fought courageously, but unfortunately passed away in October of 2015, two months after his daughter Nora was born.
You can read more about the The Ryan Richards Foundation below, but your tax deductable donation will go directly to NUT Carcinoma research and clinical trials at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. In addition to annual scholarships and supporting families battling cancer, The Foundation was able to endow a Fund in Ryan's name at Dana-Farber, to support the doctor's and clinical trials that Ryan was fortunate to participate in. Your support would continue this invaluable work. Every dollar counts!
