My Story…
I am so excited to be running the famous Falmouth Road Race with my daughter Jackie on August 20th! I have been involved with girls running for over 25 years. I coached St. Aidan's CYO track team for over 10 years, run 50+ marathons, completed 24 Ironman Triathlons, and have always been involved and coached youth sports. I believe that running and the challenges that go with it empowers young girls to realize their full potential and build up their self esteem.
I recently volunteered with Girls on the Run at a local 5k and loved the spirit and camaraderie with all the girls and women running together. My daughter Jackie has been a Girls on the Run coach for 4 years and we are going to run Falmouth together! Our goal is to raise money for scholarships so even more girls can participate in this life changing program. I would appreciate your support to help me support this outstanding program... thank you!
Description
Girls on the Run is more than a running program. Through GOTR's program, trained coaches implement the research-based curriculum that builds lifelong healthy habits. Girls learn the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of physical activity, as well as tools for navigating the challenges of adolescence. Each season concludes with a 5K event where the girls run at their own pace, giving them a sense of achievement and a framework for setting and achieving life goals.
