The Starfish Canada is an environmental charity here to show that youth aren't just the leaders of tomorrow - they're also the leaders of today. Through education, engagement and inspiration, we give young people the tools and platforms to showcase the bounty of insights and innovations that will help us solve some of our big environmental challenges. Since 2010, The Starfish Canada has celebrated young leaders working to create sustainable and vibrant communities. We've supported thousands of underserved youth to learn about environmentalism, find their voice, and launch them into their careers. 

This includes our leadership labs programs in Victoria, where youth were able to learn more about city planning and influence how a new park in the city will be created.

Our other programs include:

• Our award-winning journal, where young writers and editors come together to share their insights and innovative environmental solutions with our online community; 

• Educational workshops for K12 schools, focusing on blending Western-based science and Traditional Ecological Knowledge concepts to provide students with a holistic approach to environmental solutions (also known as “Two-Eyed Seeing”);

• Our Top 25 Environmentalists Under 25 program, where we recognize 25 young leaders annually and provide them with a platform to connect with mentors, funders, and opportunities to amplify their work;

• A “Green Champions” program, where we teach sustainability concepts to employees in the workplace and provide them with an opportunity to connect to senior leaders in their organization and provide meaningful feedback and ideas on how the business can further its environmental sustainability efforts.
