Communication Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CSDHH) has long viewed communication access as a common goal that unites the hearing, Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind communities. Communication access is more than an accommodation service, it is the key to building long lasting inclusion.
We all share a part in building this inclusive vision, and you can directly contribute by supporting CSDHH’s team at The Human Race event. Remember, we go further together!
CSDHH is raising money through The Human Race to support our Evans-Melton Access Fund, which was established in 2018 to help make sure that communication is accessible even in settings where the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) does not cover. Examples of professional services through the Evans-Melton Access fund include but are not limited to:
- American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services
- Communication real-time translation (CART) services
- Service Support Provider (SSP) for DeafBlind individuals
