My Story…
I am a disabled veteran who medically retired from the Army in 2017 after 12 years of active duty service. Since 2019, I have had four surgeries on my knees and back. Recently, my highest weight was 300 lbs. My health was slowly declining. My last surgery was in May 2023, which significantly improved my mobility. Since then, my focus has been eating healthy and getting adequate exercise. I am now down to 260 lbs. I am building my endurance to start jogging again. My road to recovery is crucial to me.
This event is important to me because of how vital the brain is. From personal experience I have had several concussions throughout my military career. But more importantly I have had soldiers and close friends suffer from a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) while deployed to a combat zone. Any research related to the brain and supporting those that have brain tumors is something that I want support and I hope you do to. Thank you and God bless.
