Hi friends, 

In a couple of weeks, I am proud to be participating in the Movement Centre of Manitoba’s Perogy Run in support of my nephew, Wyatt Enright.

For those of you that have met Wyatt, you’ve taken just take one look at his bright eyes and beaming smile and know what a remarkable little fellow he is. We first learnt of the frightening journey that Wyatt would have ahead of him just one week before he was born when it was discovered that he had suffered a stroke in-utero. From the moment he came into the world, Wyatt has beat odds, shown more resiliency than any little person should and has taught us more about life – it’s beauty, reality, joy, meaning and everything in between.

There are no words to describe the bravery of Wyatt’s parents, brother and sister as they have supported Wyatt through the last 10 years of his ongoing medical journey. Second to them are all of the people that help Wyatt feel loved, included and challenged to be his best - and arguably the most significant support has been that of the Movement Centre. Wyatt began visiting the Movement Centre as an infant and through his weekly visits, he has defied odds that had been questioned for him. I see Wyatt work so hard to achieve things that you or I don’t have to think twice about and will be forever grateful that he has a place that that has allowed him to go from taking his first steps to making incredible friends and will be a constant pillar of support to him throughout his path ahead. 

In October of 2021, Wyatt underwent a massive brain surgery called a hemispherectomy in the hopes of diminishing the severe epilepsy that was dangerously taking away his ability to grow and thrive in all the ways he should. We are so grateful that this procedure has proven successful in controlling his epilepsy and we have witnessed so much progress in his life since that time. While the journey for Wyatt holds no guarantees, today we are thankful to see this motorized-anything expert, cottage loving, music fanatic enjoying life to his fullest potential.

Wyatt inspires me daily to move to keep my body and mind healthy and I can’t wait to do so on June 25^th alongside this kiddo that I love so darn much! For kids like Wyatt, please join me today in supporting the Movement Centre of Manitoba.
