Our story…

My sister and I share a superpower, it’s called Dyslexia.

Reading, which seemed effortless for many, was a constant struggle for me. The alphabet, like a secret code I couldn’t read but others could.

Dyslexia forced me to work harder, to persevere when the pages blurred and words danced in front of my eyes. It taught me to embrace the power of determination and the value of patience.

More importantly, it molded me into someone who appreciates the beauty of uniqueness. My struggles with dyslexia led me to discover alternative ways of learning and problem-solving. It sparked creativity and a different perspective on the world.

Today, I can proudly say that my dyslexia is an integral part of who I am. It has given me strength, creativity, and empathy for others facing challenges of their own. It's a reminder that our difficulties can ultimately become our strengths.

I am grateful for the opportunity to help kids like me and my sister to be a part of their journey toward a bright future.

Thank you to all my amazing teachers that I had throughout my childhood who gave me the resources and tools to shine.

One in five struggle with literacy! Join us for our 2nd Annual 1in5k Dyslexia Dash!

In a world that expects everyone to read and write, this community event will give our dyslexic learners a chance to meet others like them while spreading much-needed awareness!

Every student deserves the opportunity to read! IDA Arizona strongly believes that every teacher should be trained in the principles of Structured Literacy, which is beneficial for ALL students but crucial to those with dyslexia!

Together, let’s raise dyslexia awareness and build a community for our dyslexic families and the teachers who serve them!

Join us on September 30th; with each step, you are helping to get teachers trained and students reading!
