Becoming Independent (BI) helps hundreds of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) create a path to a life that reflects the values and choices that are personally meaningful to them.
BI's mission is to elevate human abilities for the mutual benefit of our Community. Simply stated, we presume not only competence in each individual with IDD, but we see magnificence. We see human dignity, empowered lives and integrity. When we provide pathways for them to share their experiences with the broader community, everyone benefits profoundly.
Workforce development, independent living and education are among our core focus areas.
