Every time I hit that post button, which is rare, my heart races with anticipation. You see, I don't often share my story, because it's deeply personal and painful at times. Most people who know me are unaware of the challenging circumstances I once faced, as I bounced from one foster home to the next, but it's a part of me that will forever shape who I am.

I'm overcome with gratitude as I reflect on the incredible people who helped me during those difficult times. From the foster parents who opened their hearts and homes to me, to the counselors and teachers who provided unwavering support and guidance, to the police officers who kept me safe, and the attorneys who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, to protect me and my siblings.

That's why I'm excited to share this message with you today. The Philadelphia Bar Association and the Support Center for Child Advocates are holding their 44th Annual Philadelphia Bar Association 5k fundraiser to support their critical work in protecting and defending children in need. Your donation can help make a difference in the lives of those who are often overlooked and undervalued.

So, let me take a moment to express my deepest appreciation to the Philadelphia Bar Association and the Support Center for Child Advocates. Your commitment to this cause is awe-inspiring. Thank you for everything you do to help children in need, and for giving me hope that there is a better future ahead for all of us. And please know this, those children will grow into adults, and they will remember the good that you have done for them. I remember often with profound gratitude.
