My Story…
Welcome to my Barkapalooza fundraising page! About a year ago, West Suburban Humane Society brought in 3 bloodhound puppies. They were underweight and full of parasites. After fostering 2 of them while they waited for adoption, I decided I had to keep Mr. Silas Peanutbutter! Silas comes to work at WSHS several times a week, socializing puppies, temperament testing dogs, and providing emotional support to humans and dogs alike.
West Suburban went the extra mile with Silas by taking in an unusual dog breed knowing that he and his siblings would need extra care in the form of gastropexy surgery. This procedure helps ensure that deep chested dogs do not develop bloat and gastric torsion, which can be fatal. WSHS had no hesitation in covering this potentially life saving surgery for the adopters, putting the welfare of the dogs above all else. Thanks to WSHS, Silas, his brother Bojack, and his sister Daisy were able to reunite for a 1st birthday party, and they are all thriving!
I am so proud to work at an organization like WSHS where the well-being of the animals is the priority, and where staff, volunteers, and fosters go above and beyond to keep our animals as happy and healthy as possible. Please consider donating so that WSHS can continue to rescue animals in need, provide them with medical care, and find them forever homes.
Description
The West Suburban Humane Society (WSHS) is a private, volunteer-based, animal welfare organization that was founded in 1972 and is 100% funded by individuals, our business partners and private grants. Since our inception we have found forever homes for more than 31,000 animals, and strive to be a community resource for all pet owners.
We want to save as many lives as we can but we need your help! Our adoption fee does not cover the testing, de-worming, vaccinations, spay/neutering and microchipping WSHS provides these pets, not to mention food, litter, pee pads and other supplies our animals need!
Just $25 will microchip 5 animals
$50 will feed all the animals in our shelter one meal
$100 will cover the cost to spay or neuter one animal
$250 will contribute to the medical care for one of our animals needing extra care
$500 will cover the cost of one animal in our shelter
