Help Nicki raise money

I first met Joe in February 2019. He was sitting alone at a table at the annual Valentine's Tea, and I had just applied to work at the Stroke Recovery Association of Manitoba. Together we sat for over 30 minutes drinking tea, eating cookies, talking about his life and all the things he does with SRAM. 

I remember calling my mom from my car with tears in my eyes about this wonderful, funny man, with a mustache like Sam Elliott, who was sitting alone and considered the friends he had made at Stroke Recovery Association of Manitoba the only family he had. That moment showed me how important the organization was to the people who needed it and made me want the job more than anything in the world.

I'm walking because I have been inspired by the resilience I see every day from the stroke survivors who walk through the door at SRAM. To this day, that meeting with Joe is what fuels me to work hard and reminds me how important the work we do is.
