Dearest Movers & Groovers,

Thank you for visiting my team fundraising page for the Race to Beat Women's Cancers! 

For this year's Race, my goal is to raise $500 to support research and patient care in breast and gynecologic cancers –– conditions affecting millions of women and people around the world every year. 

By serving as our Communications Manager here at Magee-Womens Research Institute (MWRI), I have the honor and privilege of bearing witness to the stories of a few of those millions of patients and family members impacted by cancer. 

Their stories remind of us of the urgency to continue pressing onward towards a cure:

“When I heard ‘you have cancer,’ it was devastating."

“The world just stops.”

“What people don’t realize is that for metastatic breast cancer, there is no cure."

For many, hope is found in research. 

Investigators at MWRI and Hillman, like Dr. Ronald Buckanovich, Dr. Francesmary Modugno, Dr. Steffi Oesterreich, and many others, are working tirelessly in cancer research to get answers and find cures for women and people here in Pittsburgh and around the world.

With the Race to Beat Women's Cancers, we can unite in the face of a common enemy: cancer. 

Together, we can support those facing these diseases, and champion those who are searching for a cure.
