The Latin American Coalition/La Coalición

The Latin American Coalition is an organization that promotes immigrant rights based on a model of democracy and community participation in North Carolina.

The organization was created to establish new opportunities, give Hispanics a voice and create learning spaces to connect with the community. Our mission is as follows: 

1. We provide a pathway to equity and belonging for an inclusive and diverse society.
2. We build alliances with other organizations and serve as a bridge to help those who request our support.
3. We address the causes of exclusion towards Hispanics and promote constructive solutions that support inclusive and equitable policies.

Our Services: 

IMMIGRANT WELCOME CENTER

The IWC supports immigrants seeking help for domestic violence, asking for assistance in case of crisis to maintain a home, and assist in the integration process by community ID, empowerment and training workshops, and additional resources. 

IMMIGRATION LEGAL CENTER

The ILC offers advice and assistance on immigration law to low-income immigrant families and people experiencing homelessness, including family petitions. DACA renewals, I-90s and citizenship.

ECONOMIC AND LABOR CENTER

The EWC offers services focusing on the economic mobility of our community through sustainable job assistance, financial education tools, work, and business skills. Our workshops assist our community in areas such as labor rights, business development, and workforce development.

YOUTH EDUCATION CENTER

The YEC empowers students with access to mentoring, professional development opportunities, and community involvement that fosters academic achievement and support lifelong success through our Desire and College Access for Everyone programs.
