My Story…
From desk jockey Portfolio Manager to The Iron Broker!
On August 27th, 2023 - I will be participating in IRONMAN CANADA. I will be raising money for YANA. I am looking for 226 people to help families in our community by each donating a $100 dollars brining the total to $22,600.00 or $100 for each KM of the race!
What is YANA?
YANA stands for “You Are Not Alone” and is a charity that helps children and pregnant women get medical help and treatment by supporting them with financial assistance and arrangements for living and transportation.
Why YANA?
Well, my youngest is a YANA baby - just before the pandemic my wife went into early labour and we had to uproot our family to be closer to a hospital that could treat her… 250kms from our home. It was a terrifying time for us and YANA was there for every step helping us figure out what to do and even just venting to along the way!
So help me give back to an organization that has helped countless others in our community! Help us help families in need so they know that “You are not alone!”
Description
Every dollar raised in the community goes to help provide financial support and accommodation to Comox Valley families who need to travel to access medical care for a child or pregnant mother.
$50 = 1 night stay at a YANA apartment in Vancouver near BC Children’s Hospital
$100 = 4 night stay at Jeneece Place, Victoria
$200 = YANA envelope of cash for family’s emergency hospital transfer
$500 = 3 nights Nanaimo hotel accommodation
$1000 = B&B for Denman & Hornby expecting mothers
$1350 = 1 month medical travel expense funding
