Zaidi Ya Dreams is a South Australian charity dedicated to uplifting the lives of vulnerable children in Kenya. In Kenya, we provide a safe and nurturing environment where children who have no other safe place to go can thrive, grow, and reach beyond their dreams, toward their limitless potential. We are committed to strengthening families and championing family-based care wherever possible.
Zaidi Ya Dreams was founded on the belief that every child deserves a future. The children who call Zaidi home were abandoned or abused as infants. All family tracing and reintegration efforts have failed for these children.
Through our comprehensive programs, we focus on education, healthcare, and community engagement to create lasting impact. With a belief in the power of love, care, and opportunities, we empower children to dream big, overcome adversity, and break free from the cycle of poverty.
We use a trauma-informed approach to help the children heal and understand their own trauma so that they may draw resilience from it rather than being controlled by it.
With an enriched childhood full of play, art, music, and positive relationships with carers, many of our children are already defying expectations and excelling in their own talents both academic and extracurricular.
