Join me in ensuring no one endures pregnancy or infant loss alone

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. In years past we have spent the month reflecting on our niece Bridget, and our infertility journey. This year we’re thinking of our little Dumpling who was a part of our lives for a very short time last year.
In November @king_calgary and I began the IVF journey. We were fortunate enough to be able to transfer an embryo at the end of our cycle. That little embryo gave us our very first positive pregnancy test. After 3 years and so much heartache it felt like things might be taking a turn for the better. 3 years later and we finally saw those two pink lines.
That same day we received a call from the clinic that our blood test showed we were pregnant, but it didn’t look great. The days following were filled with tears and more blood tests to confirm, we were going to lose the pregnancy. We were told it was a chemical pregnancy. A term I’ve never liked, and even less now that it applied to us. This baby already had a nickname and two parents more than ready to love them. They were not just a positive pregnancy test.
6 days later we found ourselves on the receiving end of a @bridgetsbunnies comfort kit. For years we had fundraised and supported them in honour of Bridget. This time we were being comforted for our loss. I can’t put into words how meaningful and heartbreaking it was to be on the receiving end of a kit. We knew we weren’t alone in a heartache as we have stood with families every year working through their grief at the run.
As we enter the third trimester of our second pregnancy we understand that every pregnancy deserves to be celebrated.
We share our story because we know we aren’t the only ones who have been through this. We gained strength through other stories shared and hopefully this makes you feel a little less alone.
Check out my bio to see how you can help those going through pregnancy or infant loss feel a little less alone this October 💙🩷💜

Description

Bridget's Run for Pregnancy and Infant Loss is a 1km or 5km charity fun run, walk or hop in support of Bridget's Bunnies Pregnancy and Infant Loss Foundation and individuals and families experiencing loss.

Bridget's Bunnies is dedicated to ensuring no one endures pregnancy or infant loss alone through our comfort kit program. Comfort kits include items such as memory makers, books and resources, letters to the parents, and bunnies or special charms to provide gentle direction and compassion in the days following loss.

Comfort Kits are shipped at no cost to recipients or partner organizations. Bridget's Bunnies relies entirely on donations to fund our work.

Our Comfort Kits are available in hospitals and midwifery clinics throughout Simcoe Muskoka and select locations in Ontario, including Ottawa, Sudbury, and Etobicoke. Comfort Kits are currently available on-demand through our website as well.

Bridget's Bunnies was founded in memory of beautiful Bridget Bell Morrison who was unexpectedly born still one day shy of her due date.

Please join us in supporting those parents who follow down this terrible path.
