My Story…
Why am I running?
My family has a history of Alzheimer’s. I’ve seen the devastation caused by this disease. I will be running this year in honor of my grandmother, Jean Hannon.
The ARK of SC is a community outreach program in Summerville that provides services to people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Presently, The ARK operates a four-day-a-week Summerville program.
How to outrun the disease?
Researchers have found that runners who clocked more than 15.3 miles each week were 40% less likely to die from Alzheimer's.
