My Story…
B: "I want to do this run to raise money, so one day kids like me don't have to have STUPID injections..."
B was diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis 2 years ago. She started out with stiff, sore fingers. Shortly after her first check at the doctor for the mystery stiffness, her wrists started swelling.
Our family doctor had already submitted requests for specialists and the process seemed incredibly quick. Thank you!
There have so far been 50+ appointments between various Dr visits, blood tests ext. And over 30 injections so far :(:(
We are grateful for the amazing team who has come together to help her through. Including her favorite lab tech for her blood work who makes her bandage so cute! Thank you for everything.
Several joints and tendons were affected, and at this point thankfully no permanent damage that we know.
She is in remission - with weekly medicine and biweekly injections. These hurt despite icing, vibration, numbing cream, distractions and bribery.
She is strong as heck - and sweeter than honey.
She wants to raise money to support others who have this disease, and she hopes one day with all the funds raised they can find less painful ways to give medicine to the little beings like her that need it.
Thank you for your support. <3
