Our story…
This year, as my personal fundraising effort to support multiple myeloma-specific research and treatment development at the University of Calgary (headed by Dr. N Bahlis, Dr. P. Neri and their awesome research team), I decided to form a team and walk the 5km Walk in the 2024 Servus Calgary Marathon.
Our team is called the SAMPS Strollers. All funds raised by our team can be directed to SAMPS. Just search for Southern Alberta Myeloma Patient Society to choose SAMPS as your charity of choice. SAMPS will then ensure that the funds go to the U of C to directly support Dr. Bahlis and Dr. Neri's research.
I have been living with myeloma for 6 years now, and suffered my first relapse in November, 2023. I am currently undergoing my second line of treatment, which seems to be working so far. I am thankful for the efforts of Dr. Bahlis and Dr. Neri, and everyone who shines a light on multiple myeloma. This blood cancer is incurable but with the support of people like you, great strides are being made in the treatment drugs being developed to allow all myeloma patients live longer with an improved quality of life.
Please help us support multiple myeloma patients everywhere!
Thank you!!
