My Story…
My name is Julie Allerton, and I have joined Pittsburgh’s Team Challenge ALS. On May 5th I’ll be running the Pittsburgh Half Marathon in memory of my Nana, Viola Allerton, who suffered from ALS/Lou Gehrig’s disease and passed away in 2015. This fundraiser is set up to raise money for the ALS Association of Western PA and will provide services, education, and other programs to those suffering from this heartbreaking disease now. My Nana was a strong, talented, and loving woman and her battle with ALS was very long and difficult for her and my family. I am honored to run and train for this race in her memory. To provide tangible help to people currently suffering means so much to me and I’m sure it will to them too. Anything you can give is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
