My Story…
Exciting news, everyone! I'm gearing up to tackle the 2024 Pittsburgh Marathon and am proud to announce my involvement with the Magee-Womens Run for a Reason Charity Team. As I train for this challenge, I'm also committed to raising funds to support Magee-Womens Research Institue, the largest research institute in the U.S. dedicated to women’s health.
As a breast cancer survivor, knowing the research that was done long before my diagnosis, research that helped guide how long I should take specifically a chemotherapy called Taxol, and what meds to give with each chemo to decrease side effects are all reasons why I know research is so important. My love for running thru it all made it an easy choice to support Magee Womens Research Institute.
Running gives me great peace and strength, and all the years I’ve ran for myself, now I’m ready to run for others. If you know of any woman fighting or who has fought cancer, please send me their name as I will write it down and carry with me during the race, in hopes their strength and determination will stay at my side.
