Running in support of The Outlier Fund in honor of Jonah Hart
Last October, my neighbor, Jonah Hart, died after a battle with Glioblastoma, a rare type of brain cancer. We lived parallel lives and I had a very hard time coping with his death, especially seeing how it impacted our community and his family. He was only seventeen and a promising student; it was not fair. After his diagnosis, his parents became involved with an incredible organization called the Outlier Fund. They are a nonprofit dedicated to providing support to families impacted by Glioblastoma and raising money to provide resources for further research in hopes of someday discovering a cure. The Pittsburgh Marathon has an amazing program called “Run for a Reason.” The program encourages racers to run for a charity by setting a goal of money for them to raise. If they meet it, their race fee is refunded. This year, I decided to run the relay for Jonah. Together, with a group of his friends, we must raise $1,000.
