Raise money for Kenneth Gordon Maplewood School
Kenneth Gordon Maplewood School delivers an educational experience built around the individual.
KGMS is a designated Ministry of Education Special Education school, and is a non-profit centre of education supporting students with learning differences. We are located in North Vancouver, BC at 420 Seymour River Pl. V7H 1S8 and our registered charity number is 11925-4555 RR0001.
For over 50 years, Kenneth Gordon Maplewood School has helped kids with learning differences such as autism, dyslexia, ADHD and anxiety build skills and develop tools to be successful throughout their lives.
At KGMS we believe that every student has the potential for success. With an appropriate education that allows for flexibility in delivery, a program that is tailored to the specific needs of the individual and opportunities for students to communicate their thinking and learning in an environment structured for success, we believe that all students can flourish.
As students experience success and feel supported self-efficacy increases, confidence is demonstrated, and students learn to take the necessary risks that drive them to meet their full potential. Our student-centred approach integrates multi-sensory opportunities, Orton-Gillingham methodology, 1:1 tutoring, co-taught classrooms, and social development to support learners.
Our mission is to empower diverse thinkers, build confidence and capability and help our students realize their dreams.
Kenneth Gordon Maplewood School is proud to announce its enthusiastic participation in the BMO RUN4HOPE event, a charitable run aimed at making a positive impact in the community. This year, our school community is running with a purpose - to raise funds in support of children with learning differences. We believe in the power of education and inclusivity, and by joining this event, we aim to create a brighter future for children who face unique learning challenges. Together, we are not only running for a healthier lifestyle but also running to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. Join us in our journey to empower these young minds and provide them with the opportunities they deserve. Together, we can make a real change.
All funds raised by Team KGMS will go towards acquiring new sensory and adaptive technology equipment that will support the growth of neurodiverse learners in play, developmental growth and social regulation.
