My Story…
Driven by the impact that cancer has had on a number of my family members in Canada and the Philippines, I’ve decided to embark on a fundraising journey for the BC Cancer Foundation. Among those affected is my mother, who courageously overcame breast cancer during my early childhood. Her journey, marked by triumphs in immigrating to Canada for a better life and navigating the challenges of breast cancer, has passed on invaluable lessons on true strength and resilience. As I gear up for my first marathon, I am committed to embodying the same strength and resilience that she has exemplified throughout her life. I am also motivated to run this marathon, thanks to my father, who has been an avid runner for as long as I can remember. He has exemplified to me what it takes to be consistent and maintain an active lifestyle. Additionally, he has inspired me as a young girl to participate in sports and engage in other active hobbies. I’m genuinely excited to take on this challenge, running the marathon both as a personal goal and for the benefit of this amazing charity!
