I am running for the YMCA BC to help support and build our local communities. The YMCA BC is a non profit charity that offers vast amounts of programs and services to help people reach their full potential! The money I raise will be going towards YMCA BC's Community Campaign. The Community Campaign provides financial assistance to vulnerable children and families within our local region. The financial assistance allows vulnerable families and youth access to the YMCA's programs like childcare, newcomers and employment services, and mental wellness programs just to name a few. The YMCA BC offers a large variety of different programs to support those in our community.
I have given myself 4 months to train and fundraise for the big race day!! This is going to be my first ever half-marathon! I am nervously excited but up for the challenge!
04/03/2024 - Update - I am running 5kms consistently now
18/03/2024 - Update - I am 7 weeks out and I am now running 8-10kms no problem :)
16/04/2024 - Update - Three weeks out from race day! After a long 18km run, I am feeling confident in my training :)
