Autism Ontario East Region

Children, youth, and adults on the autism spectrum and their families are less likely to participate in social activities. This is because their communities lack the supportive environment needed to partake in experiences that neurotypical residents can more easily enjoy and access. 

The funds generated from the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend and Desjardins Charity Challenge will assist in covering some costs associated with operating programs that help the autistic community foster a sense of community, belonging, and inclusion. This increases resiliency to cope with life’s challenges, life skills development, and assisting in establishing peer relationships.
