My Story…
My name is Thierry Lafontaine-Chicha and I recently moved to Ottawa. I have been amazed by the heartwarming welcome I have received and now, I wish to give back.
My half-marathon run will support the Jewish Family Services (JFS) and its essential presence for the Ottawa Jewish community.
Since the October 7 attacks, the community has experienced a rise in antisemitism. Funds raised will in part support counselling for members of the community who have faced antisemitism or who relive past encounters with antisemitism.
This half-marathon race is also meant to remind us that we must never run away from bullying and persist in our support of our community.
