My Story…

TUDDENHAM, Ross Douglas (July 2, 1940 - March 31, 2024)

ROSS TUDDENHAM passed away peacefully on March 31, 2024 at the Carleton Place Hospital in his 84th year after a 15-year battle with Parkinson's Disease. Devoted husband and best friend of Kim Teron for 22 years. Loving father of Shawn (Jeana) and Mark (Amy) and grandfather of twins Sara and Sasha. Beloved son-in-law of Jean and the late Bill Teron. Fun and loving brother-in-law to Chris (Louisa), Will (Amy) and Bruce (Adrienne). Cherished 'Uncle Ross' to Briar, Heather, Hannah, Paige, Mark, Robert and Clare. Predeceased by his parents Larwill and Sarah (Harley) and loving brother Bob (Brenda) of Orillia. Survived by brother Don (Judy).

Ross had a remarkable ability to light up the room with his infectious smile, gregarious demeanor and positive energy. His charm, wisdom, humour and countless stories never failed to inspire others. His giving nature, unwavering determination and resilience touched countless lives.

Ross began his career as an RCMP Officer in 1960. His zest for business led him to found and operate numerous companies including Douglas Laboratories (now Dynacare), Coast Operations of Canada, an aircraft leasing company, Capital Aviation, Olympic Helicopters, Macs Delivery Service and NTW Realty.

Ross was an avid sportsman.  He loved tennis, squash, golf, downhill skiing, water skiing and scuba diving. He never forgot his community and was a supporter of education (Ashbury College) and medical research (The Ottawa Hospital Foundation). Ross and Kim were active members of PIPR (Partners Investing in Parkinson's Research) since 2011. PIPR has raised to date over $1.7million for The Parkinson's Research Consortium.

Sincere gratitude and a special thanks to Dr. Michael Schlossmacher for his brilliant and compassionate care of Ross for more than a decade- an exceptional man who chose to be at Ross' side in the afterlife, fulfilling one of Ross' wishes to oversee the study of Ross' brain for Parkinson's research.  Ross had an enthusiasm, curiosity and interest in Parkinson's research. Dr. Schlossmacher described Ross as the personification of PIPR. Supporting each other, learning from each other and carrying himself with a smile and determination.

A private Interment and Celebration of Life will take place on May 24, 2024.
