My Story…
In 2021, after struggling with an unknown illness for many years, misdiagnosis as different disorders, I was found to have chronic vestibular migraine.
This diagnosis has altered every aspect of my life. I went from being incredibly independent and always up for an adventure, to needing help to do basic shopping and staying in bed all day on bad days, which was often.
In winter of 2023 I had a diagnosis of POTS added to the mix. Just to spice things up and aggravate my condition further.
I was recommended to get an electric wheelchair to help deal with my muscle fatigue, balance, heart rate fluctuations, and generally help get through the day easier.
When my benefits provider denied me an electric wheelchair, it left me looking for an alternative that would work for me. That's when I found the Alinker.
The Alinker would allow me to rest when I needed, but keep my body active. I would gain so much independence and freedom back and look good while doing it!
If you asked me before my diagnosis, when I considered myself a "normal" person, if I would ever participate in a marathon, I would have laughed...and laughed, and laughed.
Now I'm jumping at the opportunity because I can actually move again. I don't want to take my ability, no matter how different, for granted.
