I’m reaching out to you with an opportunity to support our company's team of athletes participating in the upcoming inaugural “Tri24” triathlon event. The event holds a special significance as it serves as a tribute to Mark Turner and supports the chosen charity “Big Brothers and Sisters Taranaki”.

Mark was an individual deeply committed to community service. Tragically, Mark lost his battle with mental illness in December 2022. Throughout his struggles, he remained remarkably open about his challenges, hoping that sharing his story would help others facing similar difficulties.

Originally conceived as a fundraiser for the Why Collective, a charity Mark was passionately involved in, the Tri24 event has now evolved into a memorial for Mark and an initiative to support kids like his two young boys, Finn and Charlie. With Mark's untimely passing, his sons are left without a crucial role model in their lives, and this event aims to contribute to their well-being and future.

The Tri24 triathlon is a unique challenge, testing our team's endurance and determination over 24 hours of swimming, cycling, and running. The event kicks off with a 4-hour swim, followed by a 12-hour cycling leg at the Taranaki Cycle Park. The competition concludes with an 8-hour run, where teams will vie for the title of Tri24 champion based on the distance covered.

We believe that supporting our team in this event not only honors Mark's memory but also contributes to a cause he cared deeply about. The proceeds from the event will benefit Big Brothers and Big Sisters Taranaki, an organization that provides one-to-one mentoring for vulnerable children, including those who have lost a parent.

Mark's own children are now on the waiting list for a mentor, underscoring the importance of organizations like Big Brothers and Big Sisters in helping children navigate difficult times. By supporting our team in the Tri24 triathlon, you are not only contributing to a worthy cause but also raising awareness about the critical need for mentorship programs in our community.
