My Story…
The Butterfly Run Ottawa aims to raise awareness and support around pregnancy loss, infant loss, pregnancy after loss, and infertility in Ottawa and surrounding areas. All proceeds from the run are donated to Roger Neilson Children's Hospice (RNCH), an awesome organization that provides families with a wide variety of support and services, including bereavement support for parents who have lost a child or baby. This organization has helped Andy and I immensely after the loss of our baby boy. We hope that by sharing our story we are able to increase awareness of these services and show our appreciation. Aiden was diagnosed with severe ventriculomegaly, hydrocephalus and absence of midline separation at 23 weeks, meaning Aiden was not viable with life. Aiden was born via TFMR Sept 1 2022. Our grief over Aiden's loss continues to change and grow over time and we are forever grateful to the RNCH for providing us with the tools to live through this grief.
