Our story…
Orrin passed away unexpectedly at home when he was only 3 days old.
Almost 3 years later and his biome has been regrown in a lab in a hospital in Amsterdam… His cells have been sent to hospitals in Germany by the metabolic specialists at CHEO.
Orrin died of an inborn error of metabolism - or at least that is the very best guess and we miss him every single day.
Through the doctors at CHEO, we participate in the care for rare program, which is essentially an international database of some of the rarest and unknown sicknesses or diseases. Hopefully one day this research will benefit other families and babies.
